We miss you my baby

We got Teddy at the Pet Orphan’s in Van Nuys in December of 2000. I actually went to see about adopting a kitty for my puppy Holi, but they had Teddy sitting just inside the entrance. He was beautiful and I went over to pet him. He put his head down and, really softly, gave me a kiss. I looked at the volunteer holding Teddy’s leash and I said, “OK, I’ll take him”.

Because we already had a dog, they had to bring Teddy out for a trial run in our house, and they wanted to check out that I was providing a good home for him. I was waiting outside for them to come when I saw the car drive up the hill, Teddy sitting up in the passenger seat, just as good as could be.

Teddy was the sweetest, most gentle animal in the world. He wouldn’t hurt a flea.  There were insurance companies that wouldn’t even insure me. Everyone was so concerned about Teddy. Charlie, my cat, is more dangerous than Teddy.

But now he’s gone. No more insurance problems, no more hair on the floor, no more sweet Teddy… and my heart breaks for him.
